Ruby Beach Washington, which is tucked away on the stunning and rugged Washington coast is a great place to relax and unwind with the beautiful tall sea stacks, surf, and sand that this Pacific coast beach has to offer.
Sometimes to nurture our soul and add relaxation into the mix, we need to get away to a quiet area, especially out in nature. Doesn’t this photo just invite you in?
Many times when I’m not doing well emotionally, when I try to relax and pray, for some reason images like this one actually come to my mind.
Why Visit Ruby Beach?
Ruby Beach in Washington State is named for its garnet-colored sand grains. These tiny, reddish pebbles resemble rubies, thus “Ruby Beach.”
The beach was formed by cliff erosion, which released minerals into the sea. Strong waves crushed these and transported the particles to shore. These sediments include the garnet crystals that give the beach its name.
The day I visited however was very cloudy, so I couldn’t see the ruby-colored hues of the sand that I wanted to see. It depends on the lighting of the particular day you visit.
Ruby Beach is known for its rough beauty, sea stacks, and tidal pools, but these garnet crystals add interest and appeal.
