Nurturing Life Newsletter- by Val Garner

Writing about life, home, family, healthy living, gardens, food, books, and nature by this lady who loves life and desires to create a soft landing place in life's challenges.

Some of the topics will also be ideas for earning extra income at home because lack of resources can also be a major source of stress and many are struggling in today’s economy.

As one who has an autoimmune disease, I make a priority for healthy living practices, so there will be posts about that, cooking, recipes, and sometimes the occasional amazing junk food recipe to keep a good mental health balance.😄

Another way of saying this is I have a very wide range of interests, and at 62 years old, do not want to suppress that. We all have many interests, which I celebrate. So, if I post a topic you aren’t interested in, skip it. The next one might be right up your alley.

Who Am I?

I’m Val Garner, a single woman in her 60s trying to figure out life after some difficult life setbacks. I strive to find a soft landing place for myself, and desire to offer that to others, whether it’s through encouragement, a listening ear, writing, laughter, or whatever that may look like.

My living situation right now is unique. I live in a modern-day boarding house (not a halfway house), and I’ve been there for 2 years now. I live with 11 other women, and that sometimes makes life interesting.

Life is hard. Can we help ease the burden of others somehow? If each of us can try to do that for those in our lives, how much better our world could be?

I am a writer of several books, my pen name is Amber Richards for them. I also love watercolor painting, graphic design, reading, and movies.

I’m a mother of two grown sons and 5 grandchildren whom I love dearly. I am a Christian woman who loves God, yet am not pushy about it. I try to let my walk do the talking in simply who I am and how I treat others. I love it when I can be somehow a healing and encouraging light to someone.

I have fewer answers about life as I age, but that somehow really doesn’t matter. My writing emerges from life’s journey. If you’d like to learn a little more about me, Soul Magazine at Medium recently did an interview about me you can read here.

I’d like to invite you to subscribe to Nurturing Life pub, I have decided to keep it a free newsletter.

THANK YOU!

If you would like to see my graphic design work, my storefront is here.

Lastly, I have a virtual tip jar available, should anyone be interested (but don’t feel obligated), at Buy Me A Cup of Coffee, and under the tab ‘SHOP’ has some of my photos and artwork up for sale, that can be downloaded, printed and framed.
